Vandals Cause Damage in Mt. Pleasant Park

Dear Neighbors -

Many are aware of the community effort that went into recent upgrades and improvements to Mt. Pleasant Park, which sits in front of the little league fields next to Mt Pleasant High School.

Late last night, vandals lit one of the new park benches on fire, causing considerable damage to the bench and table.

The upgrades and improvements were the result of a great partnership formed between the Providence Parks Department and the Friends of Mt Pleasant Park neighbors group. Many of you also devoted time and effort to the planning and renewal work.

As a rule, no one should be in the park after 9pm. I am sharing this news with you in hopes that you will keep an eye out for late night activity in the park, and if you see anything, I ask that you report it to the police.

We will be replacing the bench top as soon as possible and will also be adding more lighting in the park.
