Ward 5 Neighborhoods to Participate in Pilot Grant Initiative
This place-based partnership pulls together ONE Neighborhood Builders (ONE|NB) as the community backbone, the Governor’s office and state agencies to provide resources and policy expertise, the Rhode Island Foundation as a fiscal steward and thought-partner, and financial support from Blue Meridan Partners.
As the backbone, ONE|NB will:
· Shepherd the strategic direction of the work
· Convene and facilitate initiative workgroups, including the Resident Advisory Council
· Ensure coordination with the Central Providence Collaborative/Health Equity Zone
· Determine funding priorities
The five main strategies will focus on:
· Affordable housing development
· Expansion of high-quality childcare and Pre-K
· On-ramps to family-sustaining jobs
· Local business supports
· Building community capacity
