Dear Neighbors:

If you live on Canton Street near or around Pleasant Valley Parkway you may have experienced a short period of discolored water yesterday into this morning. The discoloration was due to the reactivation of a repaired water main yesterday, which disturbed sediment in the system. The main has been flushed via a hydrant and the overall issue has been resolved.

The PVD Water Board says that there is not a water quality or water safety issue related to this discoloration, but they do recommend that if you are still experiencing discoloration to flush your system by running the COLD water spigot in your kitchen and bathroom sinks, as well as the bathtub or shower faucets until the discoloration clears.

If you are still having any issue with water discoloration after taking these steps, please call the water quality hotline at (401) 521-6303
