Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban Begins
The First Day of this Green Initiative in the City
Majority Leader Ryan lead the charge to enact the law that bans Providence merchants from offering single-use plastic bags to shoppers. She wrote the ordinance and worked diligently to get it passed in City Council. This ban is part of a larger effort to keep plastics out of our local water ways, Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic ocean.
Majority Leader Ryan joined the staff at the Manton Avenue Stop N Shop to kick off the first day of the ban.
